Eligibility

The Film & Video Division of the NHSI is a competitive program. Application decisions, made by the Admissions Committee, are based on ability and merit. Enrollment is limited. If you would like to apply to the NHSI Film & Video Division, you should:

  • Be currently enrolled in your sophomore or junior year of high school. Students must be rising into their junior or senior years the summer they attend the NHSI.
  • Rank academically in or near the top 30% of your high school class.
  • Meet a high standard of character, dependability, and intellect.
  • Give evidence of special ability or substantial interest in the media arts.

How to Apply

  1. Submit the National High School Institute Application including $60 application fee.
  2. You will receive an email confirmation from the NHSI within 1-3 business days of applying. That email contains guidelines on how to submit the supporting materials required to complete your application.
  3. Once we’ve processed your supporting materials, which may include two essays, a resume, letter of recommendation, test scores, and current transcript, we will send you an email confirmation.
Spend your summer steeped in the art of filmmaking and discover what’s possible.
