The Scholarship Committee of the Anthony Quinn Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the 2018 application period!
Modeled after the personal experience of Anthony Quinn, the Scholarship Program awards funding for high school students interested in the arts who wish to attend a pre-college summer intensive arts program. Students from around the world are invited to apply and must be enrolled in high school or officially registered as a home-schooled high school student.
Applications are reviewed by a panel of judges who are practicing artists and arts educators whose professional expertise range across the spectrum of fields for which scholarships are awarded. The judges are independent of the Anthony Quinn Foundation’s board and staff and operate under a strict conflict of interest policy and the anti-discrimination clause.
Summer programs vary in costs. The maximum scholarship award is $2,500. Some programs cost less, but many exceed that cost so students are encouraged to seek funding from other sources.
In order to qualify for the applicant pool, the following items must be provided by Tuesday, November 28, 2017:
- Parent/Guardian Form
- Nomination Letter
- Recommendation Letter
Final materials, listed below, must be submitted for the judging round no later than Wednesday, January 3, 2018:
- Completed Application
- Artistic Statement
- Work Samples
- Picture of yourself
Please read the application guidelines carefully. All applicants must complete the qualifying materials (parent/guardian form and nomination and recommendation letters) in order to advance to the judging round.
Recipients are selected based on a list of criteria, carefully researched and developed using the highest standards of excellence and integrity. The criteria incorporate elements of talent, personal dedication and financial need.
Recipients will be notified no later than April 10, 2018.
Teachers, Advisors, and Supporters of the Arts, this is an amazing scholarship opportunity for talented students who wish to pursue their creative dreams!
