Juniors Nina Fridman and Stephen Lowe reached the semifinals at the Northwestern Season Opener, the first major college debate tournament hosted entirely online. Northwestern President Morton Schapiro received a Community Service Award Nov. 18 from the Evanston North Shore Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. In May, NHSI alumnus, Adam Present, was honored with the Rising Star Award at the 2017 CineYouth Festival in Chicago for his short film Magnum Opus.
